About DFMRT
An introduction to the voluntary rescue team and the area of need it serves.

DFMRT describes Mountain Rescue as a voluntary organisation whose primary role is helping hill-goers in need. The team may also be tasked to places that the Ambulance Service cannot reach.
Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue Team was formed in 2003 through the amalgamation of the Furness and Millom mountain rescue teams. The official introduction says DFMRT responds on its own or works with neighbouring Wasdale, Coniston and Kendal mountain rescue teams.
