About DFMRT
Volunteer mountain rescue based at Foxfield in the South Lake District, formed in 2003 from the Furness and Millom teams.
Mountain Rescue is a voluntary organisation. Our primary role is helping hill-goers in need, and we can also be called to places that the Ambulance Service cannot reach.
Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue Team was formed in 2003 when the Furness and Millom mountain rescue teams joined together. We respond on our own or alongside our neighbouring teams at Wasdale, Coniston and Kendal.
