Our permanent base: January 2026 update

In January 2026, construction of our permanent base was well under way beside our rented base at Foxfield. We expected to move into the building in early or mid-2026.

Over ten years we have raised £1 million. Our supporters raised a further £130,000 during 2025, and £260,000 in grants went towards the build. The build is covered, but we still need to raise money for fit-out, annual running costs and future vehicle replacement.

We were the only Lake District team without a purpose-built base. The rented building is inadequate for storing and drying equipment, for training and welfare, and for managing incidents involving multiple teams or agencies.
