What DFMRT does

DFMRT’s published capabilities include:
- search and rescue in mountainous terrain
- casualty care and evacuation
- searches for lost people away from the hills
- crag and steep-ground rescue
- support for other 999 services and mountain rescue teams
- Ambulance Service support in winter conditions
- swift-water rescue and flood assistance
The team says it regularly works and trains with other Lake District teams and other emergency services.
In an emergency, dial 999, ask for the Police, then ask for Mountain Rescue.
